2023年ヴェネチア建築ビエンナーレの日本館のキュレーションを担当された建築家の大西麻貴さんの企画のもと、11月のクロージングに向けて「Plant Drop Ceremony」というワークショップ／パフォーマンスを行いました。哲学者の鞍田崇さんとともにお茶会の形式を踏襲しながら、吉阪隆正が設計した日本館の空間が持つ魅力を五感で味わう機会をつくりました。扉に映る朝の光、鳥の鳴き声、井戸を象徴するような床の開口部から立ち上る風。建築が醸す空気感を静かに味わう時間になりました。
Directed by Maki Onishi, the curator of Venice Architectural Biennale 2023 for Japan Pavilion, I was invited to be part of the workshop / performance ‘Plant Drop Ceremony’ for the closure of the event. Together with philosopher, Takashi Kurata, we have created the opportunity to feel the space in five senses by refering to the form of Japanese tea ceremony. The light and shadow on the wall, the sound of birds, the wind comes up from the bottom of the floor, the event made participants realised all those elements.
