書籍『土』（エルメス財団編 岩波書店刊）が8月末に出版されました。編集ほかインタビューで関っています。
土が人間の技術を経て素材と呼ばれるようになるまでの、人間と自然資源の関わりが多角的にわかるような内容になっています。インタビューでは岐阜県瑞浪市にあるカネ利陶料さんと長崎県佐世保市にある三川内焼を取材。カネ利陶料の岩島会長には美濃地方特有の多様な土をブレンドする陶土作りの技術と様々な作家に向き合って素材を作る思いについてお伺いしました。三川内焼は豊臣秀吉の朝鮮出兵の際にやって来た陶工が始めた窯元でその歴史は400年にも及びます。国を超えて技術を継承すること、また時代や社会の変遷をへてやきもの作りがどのように土地の人の暮らしと関わって来たのかを三人の現役の職人にお聞きしています。
TERRE Japanese version of the book for Skill Academy initiated by Hermès Foundation was published by Iwanami Shoten. I worked for editorials and interviews for two practitioners of soil / cray in Japan. One is Kaneri Toryo, the producer of various type of cray for artists to know how the production of material is directly connected to earth. The other is the 16th generations of the potter in Mikawachi Pottery, Nagasaki, taken from Korea during the war between Japan and Korea in 16th century and how they transmitted and develop their technique over 400 years.
